Warren & Gibson Shield

Posted on: 28 July

Our Warren and Gibson teams kicked off their 2025 season on Sunday with their first match played away at Lynwood Golf and Country Club. The conditions were challenging, with strong wind gusts between 20–35 km/h making scoring difficult on the long and demanding course.

In the Warren team match, the first group of Tim Crowe and Tim Carr secured a tight 1-up win, while the second group of Garry Pepper and Nic Lagesse narrowly went down 1-down. That left Kahn Nathan and Dean Kolthek in the final group to battle it out for a result. In a hard-fought contest, they managed to hold on for a crucial half, resulting in an overall squared match against the home side.

The Gibson team wasn’t able to get on the scoreboard this week, with all three matches resulting in close losses: 4/3, 4/2, and 2/1. Despite the score lines, each match was tightly contested.

Away matches are never easy, especially under tough conditions. The return leg is scheduled for this Sunday at home, with matches teeing off from 11:10am. Members are encouraged to come down and support the teams—there’s sure to be some great golf on display!
